Creative fun was offered at Kirby Day
Kirby Day at Richfield Heritage Preserve always brings out people who want to enjoy the outdoors, regardless of the weather. This year, they got to play in the rain. The Friends of Richfield Heritage Preserve provided ice blocks for guests to ride down a hill. On the wet grass, the ice traveled even faster.
Chuck Kettler was on site and displayed birdhouses he had made to replicate buildings in the park.
Doug Wisneski built a railroad track around the little village so children could generate electricity to power the train’s lights by pedaling a stationary bike.
The fun ended when the park director stopped the event because of rain.
