Summit County hosts Oct. 16 expungement filing clinic
People with eligible convictions in Summit County Court of Common Pleas can get help filing to seal or expunge their records during the third annual “Expungement Filing Day.”
The clinic is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 16, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., in Judge Joy Malek Oldfield’s courtroom at Summit County Courthouse, 209 S. High St., in Akron. No registration is required.
Summit County Clerk of Courts Tavia Galonski, Summit County Prosecutor Elliot Kolkovich and Summit Legal Defenders are partnering on the event. Ohio law requires a $50 filing fee to process expungements, but the fee may be waived based on income. Summit Legal Defenders will assist with applications as permitted by Ohio law.
