Glenwood Trail project now underway

As motorists may have already discovered the hard way in recent weeks, the city’s Glenwood Trail Improvement Project is now underway and as of Jan. 2, Glenwood Trail is closed to through traffic.

Brecksville Police will be monitoring this closure as the city has requested that all residents be mindful of these detours.

In conjunction with the project, the city of Broadview Heights has temporarily lifted its “no thru traffic” laws on Avery Road during the construction process, and as always, Highland Drive is available as a detour.

City Engineer Gerald Wise reminds residents that the Glenwood Trail Improvement Project is “an extremely large project” that will continue through the winter with a tentative completion date of late summer 2023.

“To the ability possible, we have tried to accommodate provisions in the plans to minimize inconveniences but ultimately the project involves [the replacement of] just under 2,200 feet of sanitary and storm sewers, pavement removal and replacement and [the installation of new] sidewalks,” Wise said. “Based on such, there will be inconveniences and we thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation throughout this project.” ∞
