Zoning change passes

by Dan Holland

A zoning issue for an undeveloped 15-acre parcel located on the northeast corner of Broadview and Boston roads to be changed from C-2 commercial to B-1 residential cluster/townhomes passed by a narrow margin of less than one percentage point at the Nov. 8 elections. Final vote tallies from the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections, with 100% of precincts reporting, showed 3,788 votes in favor of the change and 3,729 opposed. Final plans for the development will still require approval from both city council and the city’s planning commission.
