Hall named athletic director
At the March 13 Board of Education meeting, Jason R. Hall was hired as the next athletic director of North Royalton City Schools, effective Aug. 1. He replaces Bo Kuntz, who is retiring from the district at the end of the school year.
Hall brings more than two decades of coaching, teaching and athletic administration experience to his new leadership role.
“We are excited to welcome Jason Hall to the Bear family as our athletic director,” said Superintendent Michael Laub. “Jason’s background as a college athlete, coach, athletic director and teacher had one common theme – he understands how to build a positive culture. He has built great relationships with staff, students and parents in his previous positions and understands the importance of clear communication. We are looking forward to Jason being a part of our team.”
Hall most recently served as a physical education and health teacher for the Westlake City Schools, where he also had stints as head football coach in 2015 and 2021. He also was the coordinator of student and community service for the district.
Prior to his time in Westlake, he spent six years as athletic director and head football coach for the Massillon City Schools from 2008-2013. There, he was responsible for overseeing the high school athletic program, staff recruitment/evaluations, scheduling, budgeting, policy compliance and facility operations. His football teams qualified for the OHSAA playoffs in five out of his six seasons at the helm.
“I am honored and excited to join North Royalton City Schools as the new athletic director,” said Hall. “This is an outstanding community with a proud athletic tradition. I look forward to working alongside our coaches, staff and students to uphold that excellence and create an environment where student-athletes can achieve great success both on and off the field.”
Hall’s coaching accolades include multiple Coach of the Year honors, an OHSAA Regional Runner-Up finish in 2012 and consistent recognition for his teams’ academic accomplishments. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Mount Union College and a master’s degree in administrative leadership from Grand Canyon University. ∞
