Park service to conduct emergency riverbank stabilization

Due to significant erosion from the Cuyahoga River, the National Park Service has announced an emergency riverbank stabilization is necessary in Brecksville near the Columbia Run picnic area.

Out of an abundance of caution, the park service and the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad have determined that train operations will be modified to avoid the area until the repairs are complete. The river is a dynamic system, and it is constantly changing.  The Cuyahoga Valley National Park is committed to continually assessing track conditions, especially near the river, and maintaining the tracks for safe train operations.

Further schedule modifications and/or cancelations may be necessary.

Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad excursions are available with an updated schedule. Visit cvsr.org for details.
