Master the Art of Gardening and Master the Garden of Life at March 12 meeting

The Twinsburg Garden Club will host Dennis James Deegan at the garden club’s meeting on Thursday, March 12, at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 10285 Ravenna Rd. The business meeting begins at 6:30 p.m., followed by refreshments, and the program begins about 7:15 p.m. Visitors are invited to all parts of the meeting. Parking and entrance to the facility are at the rear of the church.

Deegan will present an interactive and inspirational program that will explore what it means to Master the Art of Gardening and how you should find it easier to Master the Garden of Life as a result. The program should help you experience more of the beauty and joy of gardening, including sharing several magical gardening tips on your path to becoming an Artful Gardener©.  

Dennis earned his BA in psychology from Monmouth College and was a high school teacher and coach for several years before beginning a career as a sales and marketing executive. He left the corporate world in 2010 to pursue his passion of becoming a professional speaker and life coach.  He is the founder and Past President of Twinspirations Toastmasters, a 7-year-old Twinsburg Toastmasters club that won awards each year since 2013.

Dennis is also past president of the North East Ohio Iris Society and has given speeches to numerous North East Ohio Gardening Clubs, including the Twinsburg Garden Club.  He is nearing completion of a new book, The Artful Gardener. He lives in Twinsburg with his wife, Nancy.

The Twinsburg Garden Club welcomes visitors to all parts of the meeting. Meetings are the second Thursday of the month at Christ the King Lutheran Church starting at 6:30 p.m. Programs feature guest speakers and design, horticultural and environmental education. Members live in Aurora, Hudson, Macedonia, Monroe Falls, Northfield Center, Reminderville, Solon and Twinsburg. The annual dues are $20 per person.
