Zoom Express Car Wash opens Twinsburg location

Soon after the first Zoom Express Car Wash opened in late 2017 in Stow, the ownership group started looking to build a second location, which recently opened at 8581 Darrow Road car wash.

“Almost immediately when we got Stow up and running the response from the community was great,” Zoom Express Car Wash Operations Manager Eric Bilton said. “That’s when the group started looking for more property.

“Twinsburg was a very logical place, being somewhat close to Stow;  they’re separate, but you also get some crossover where people can use both facilities.”

The automated car wash in Twinsburg, which uses chemicals made in Northeast Ohio by Diamond Shine, is open 8 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on Sunday.

Bilton said the notion of an automated stand-alone car wash has been successful around the country, but it was relatively new to Northeast Ohio.

“We’re getting cars in and out quickly, providing a great wash,” Bilton said. “Over the course of a day we’ll wash 200 to 300 cars. On our busiest day, we can do 1,000 cars. It takes about two minutes to wash the car, but being a conveyer style wash we can get one in right after the other.

“The convenience is one of the benefits of our wash. There are never long lines because we run everybody through so quickly.”

In addition to selecting different types of washes, ranging in cost from $6 to $18 for a single visit, customers can purchase a month-long Fastpass, which offers unlimited visits.

“That’s one of the things that sets us apart is a Fastpass, which is basically like a gym membership,” Bilton said. “It’s a subscription to our car wash where you pay a low monthly fee.

“We also give a free towel and air freshener for every customer who comes through. We offer free vac service with 15 vac-booms in Twinsburg ready for your use after your car is washed.”

Bilton said attendants are present at both locations – with a third Northeast Ohio facility expected to be announced soon – to provide customer service.

“The wash is 100 percent automated,” Bilton said. “At the end, after going through high-pressure dryers to get most of the water away, the shammy towels available on the top two packages put the finishing touch on it.”

Bilton acknowledged that the public has experienced automated car washes, often located adjacent to gas stations, but he stressed that’s where the comparison to Zoom Express Car Wash ends.

“A gas station operator is never going to run a car wash,” Bilton said. “We focus on car washing, it’s what we do. It’s very high quality.”
