Kiwanis Empty Bowls dinner

Feb05

5:00pm - 7:30pm

Every winter, the Kiwanis Club of Brecksville and the Lions Club of Broadview Heights hold their Empty Bowls dinner to raise money for Brecksville Pantry and South Hills Lend-a-Hand. This year’s event is Tuesday, Feb. 5, from 5-7:30 p.m., at the Cuyahoga Valley Career Center, 8001 Brecksville Rd., Brecksville.

The dinner is spartan to emphasize the ongoing need to feed less fortunate people in the area. Participants dine on a bowl of soup, bread and salad. Food is donated by area restaurants. Guests will be able to keep a handcrafted bowl made by local artisans to commemorate the evening.

Tickets are $15 and can be purchased from any Brecksville Kiwanis member; at The Framer’s Gallery, 7730 Chippewa Rd, Brecksville; by contacting Bill Rittman at 440-526-5618 or abrittman@sbcglobal.net; or by contacting Kevin Krcmar at 440-590-2380 or klkrcmar@gmail.com. Tickets will not be sold at the door, as the event has sold out for five consecutive years.

Brecksville Pantry supplies food monthly to about 20 households in Brecksville, and Lend-a-Hand serves residents of Brecksville, Broadview Heights, Independence and Seven Hills.
