Township Corner
by Trustee Don Laubacher
In my first 4 months in office, quite a few of you have contacted me to ask questions and share opinions. Thank you. I appreciate hearing from you.
We continue discussing the best ways to leverage our allocation of American Rescue Plan (ARP) funds of $262,000. These ARP monies provide us with an opportunity to do some things we’ve delayed, and to apply a good portion to some service contracts that will likely increase.
• Our curbside wood chipping service will be offered the week of May 2. Please check our website for specific information.
• It seems likely that we will receive funds from the OneOhio Opioid settlement to be used for prevention, treatment, and recovery. This could be a good opportunity to partner with agencies and other local governments to maximize these funds’ impact.
Please vote on May 3
We have a Tax Levy on the ballot for our roads and bridges and we need your support. The proposed renewal is a reduction of .3 mills for five years.
Zoning Boards
Thanks to those listed below. We’ve made good progress filling our zoning boards. We still have two openings on our zoning commission and two on our board of zoning appeals, so please consider applying.
Thank you. I’m grateful to these township residents for their recent appointments:
Steve Donaldson, zoning commission
Hamid Homaee, zoning commission
Jerry Ryba, board of zoning appeals
Holly Price, RJRD marketing committee
Harold Gaar, JEDD board
