Congratulations to Dana McKinney and Vincent Macy, who were married June 6 at the Crowne Plaza at Playhouse Square in Cleveland, followed by a reception with family and friends. Dana, the daughter of longtime Bath resident Debbie Williams, grew up in Bath and is a 2016 graduate of Revere High School and a 2020 graduate of Kent State University.

Dana is now the second-generation owner of Time To Spare LLC, the event and marketing management company founded by her mother 30 years ago. She took over the family business in 2025. Vincent, a 2015 graduate of North Ridgeville High School, serves as a K-9 officer with the North Ridgeville Police Department. The couple lives in Elyria with their young son.

Dana has another celebration on the calendar. As vice president of Revere’s Class of 2016, she is joining class President Drew Espinal to plan the class’s 10-year reunion, set for Sept. 26, at Vaccaro’s Trattoria in Bath. The Bath Community Fund recently welcomed four new members to its advisory board: Alexandra Vukoder, chief advancement and communications officer at the Akron Art Museum; Jeff Kerr, director of planning and policy for Greater Sandusky Partnership; Luke Messner, president and sales manager of TKM Print Solutions; and Scott Eller, a retired sales executive in higher education publishing.

The new members join Diana McCool, chair; Maureen Katanic, vice chair; Traci Mockbee; Scott Siddall; Carolyn Kean; and Melina Boyce in guiding the fund’s work to strengthen the Bath community through philanthropy and grant making.

On a personal note, I’m delighted to join this group of community leaders and look forward to helping grow a resource dedicated to supporting the community my family and I call home.

Congratulations to the Revere volleyball team, which took first place in the JV Gold Division at the Cedar Point Summer High School Spiketacular! Led by Coach Grace Milano, the team included Addi Baron, Giada Bertolotti, Francesca Camardo, Emmie Fox, Ella Karwowski, Alaina Kestner, Nora Loescher, Grace Smith, Lilly Sprang and Violette Vukoder.

There’s something new waiting for students at Richfield Elementary as the school year gets underway. Longtime Revere teachers and best friends, Molly Brittain and Dawn Peters, are beginning a new chapter this fall, moving from fourth grade to first grade after 16 years teaching fourth grade together.

The two met as fourth-grade teachers on the third floor of the old Bath Elementary School and have been best friends ever since. When two first-grade positions became available, they decided they were ready for a new challenge. They jumped at the opportunity and were even more excited when they learned their new classrooms would be right next door to each other.

Brittain and Peters are especially looking forward to the fun and challenging task of teaching children to read. They already have plans to bring their classrooms together for projects and group activities, and to keep sharing the new ideas that have been a hallmark of their years working together.

“We think alike and are often thinking of the same new idea or how we can make something better,” Brittain said of Peters. “Working with your best friend is a blessing. We get to do life together at school and personally.”

Brittain describes Peters as her biggest supporter, someone whose goodness comes through in everything she does and a teacher whose students “become her kids forever.” Peters calls Brittain genuine, caring and encouraging, and credits her friend with teaching her how to remain calm while never being afraid to show just how much she cares.

After all these years, they know each other pretty well. They finish each other’s sentences, share ideas and approach their work as a partnership. They also know their differences. Brittain is the organized one. Peters, they laughingly agree, is not.

Both have created nature- and growth-inspired classrooms for their new first-graders, a fitting theme for two teachers beginning a new adventure of their own. For Brittain, a Revere graduate, it’s another chapter in a school community that has long been part of her life.
