To the Editor:

Public libraries are essential to our communities. They provide story time clubs for parents and tots, ways for elders to connect with others and places for teens to meet up for study groups or school projects, just to name a few.

After working in school libraries for 26 years, I have interacted with many public librarians and found them to be highly trained professionals who are experts in literacy, discovery and lifelong learning.

With library funding currently under attack at the state level, Noah Spinner, who is a candidate for Ohio state representative in our district, is dedicated to fighting for fair funding for public libraries across the state of Ohio.

Please consider casting your vote for Noah Spinner when you go to the polls to vote in November.

On a beautiful evening in late June, Crown Point Ecology Center opened the doors of its century barn for Bath Community Fund’s annual meeting. Fund donors and grantees enjoyed touring the barn and its surroundings, and mingling with one another while enjoying libations donated by Corkscrew Johnny’s; pizza provided by Pint & Pie Works; additional beverages supplied by Michael Ackermann of Michael’s Workshop; and other food and desserts courtesy of the fund’s board and committee members.

A financial report of the fund was provided and attendees heard from several grantees on the status of their grant-funded projects. BCF also introduced its 1818 Legacy Society and Forever Bath Circle of Caring donation options.

Bath Community Fund recognizes its impact is made possible by people who believe in the power of giving back. We are deeply grateful for the generosity of our donors and community partners. That support makes it possible for us to respond to community priorities, encourage local philanthropy and create lasting positive impacts close to home.

I am the wife of a retired police officer and I have seen firsthand how essential it is for our elected officials to support the safety forces who serve our communities. Noah Spinner, who is running for a seat in the Ohio House, has earned my vote and the endorsements of the Ohio Association of Professional Fire Fighters and Summit County Sheriff Kandy Fatheree. I am confident he will work to ensure that the people who keep our neighborhoods safe have the resources they need.

Nearly 90 million eligible voters did not vote in the last presidential election. You get the government you deserve. Early voting begins Oct. 6. Make your voice heard and vote like your life depends on it.

Noah Spinner, who is running to represent District 31 in the Ohio House of Representatives, will fight to ensure that young and old alike can access the health care they need. He understands all too well the financial challenges of a serious illness, having tragically lost his wife to cancer.

Affording health care is a very real struggle for families across Ohio. A serious illness or medical condition all too often has devastating financial consequences. No one should face bankruptcy because of a cancer diagnosis, or have to choose between buying groceries and buying essential prescriptions.

Noah has experienced the financial strain a major illness causes, and has the vision and dedication to advocate for regular folks and the issues they face.

People come from all over the world seeking care at Ohio’s major medical centers. Let’s make sure all of Ohio’s residents can access that care, too. Please join me in voting for Noah Spinner on Nov. 3.
