Check township website for special meetings

May 8 township trustees meeting

Since the Nordonia Hills News Leader is no longer running in print, Sagamore Hills will be posting notifications of special trustee meetings on the township’s website, mysagamorehills.com. Township Attorney Jeff Snell said the township is not required to post about special meetings but had been doing so as an extra step. Resident David Klimkewicz suggested adding a changeable sign in the township to notify people of upcoming meetings. Trustees said the township zoning code does not allow for electronic signs and outside the township administration building is not a central location for a sign.

Klimkewicz also asked about white writing seen on the ground on Nesbitt and Valley View roads. Trustee David DePasquale said he thought it might be for construction crews to mark where they would grind pavement. Snell said it could be for county GIS aerial mapping, in which a drone or other airborne device creates a digital map of an area for public viewing.

Trustee John Zaccardelli said the buildings that were on the soon-to-be Parkview Senior Living property at state Route 82 and Carter Road were demolished. He added that road paving in the area is anticipated for completion by late October.

A company called Investments at Barnett purchased the former Elmcroft assisted living property at 997 W. Aurora Rd. in March. Zaccardelli said the company has not yet presented a plan for the property to the zoning commission.

He ended his report noting there might be a board of zoning appeals meeting on May 24. ∞
