Heart of Revere selling cookbooks and wreaths

Heart of Revere, a volunteer-based program supporting the Revere Schools community, is selling “Grateful Gatherings” cookbooks, a compilation of recipes from Revere teachers and staff. The cookbooks are $20 and available at heartofrevere.memberhub.com/w/fundraisers and at The Bake Shop in Ghent. All proceeds benefit Heart of Revere.

The group is also offering a “read and recycle” program, in which books are collected for middle school students. Sixth-grade novels needed are “Blood on the River” and the young readers edition of “I am Malala.”

Seventh-grade novels needed are “The Seventh Most Important Thing,” “Code Talker,” “Animal Farm,” “Fever 1793,” “The Outsiders,” “Castle Diary,” “The Midwife’s Apprentice,” “Farewell to Manzanar,” and “The Canterbury Tales, retold by Geraldine McCaughren.”

Books needed for eighth-grade students include “The Crossover,” “All Quiet on the Western Front,” “Claudette Colvin: Twice Toward Justice,” and “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.” Donated books will be sorted and delivered to Revere staff and/or individual students.

Heart of Revere is also taking part in a winter wreath fundraiser. Community members can order wreaths through giftitforward.com and use the fundraiser code HEARTOOH001. Heart of Revere will receive $8 for each wreath purchased and orders are due by Dec. 9.
