Get into the holiday spirit with local events

Hudson is the place to be if you are looking for some holiday spirit. Several new events have been added to the festivities this year in addition to the annual favorites. Details of many of these events can be found at hudson.oh.us/events.

Craft and Vendor Fair

Redeemer Church, 190 West Streetsboro St., will hold its annual Craft and Vendor Fair on Saturday, Nov. 5, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. A variety of craft tables will offer wreaths, fused glass art, purses, jewelry, rugs, a table with cool old stuff, and miscellaneous Christmas items. There will be various vendors such as Tower Gardens and Arbonne books. Coffee and doughnuts will be offered in the morning and sloppy joes, chips, cookies and cider during lunchtime from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

Ugly Holiday Sweater Day

The Shop Local/Shop Hudson Team has renamed the day after Thanksgiving, Thursday, Nov. 25, as Hudson’s Ugly Holiday Sweater Day. Restaurants and shops will be celebrating ugly sweaters from noon to 8 p.m. There will be prizes awarded at 4:45 p.m. at the Gazebo, just before the Lighting and Caroling on the Green at 5 p.m. (See page 2.)  At 7 p.m., each participating restaurant will also award a Winner’s Ribbon to their favorite ugly sweater. There will be ugly sweaters galore as customers and staff don their finest!

Santa’s Mailbox and Small Business Saturday

Santa’s Mailbox will return to the Clocktower Green, on the corner of Church and Main streets (state Route 91) and  Hudson will celebrate Small Business Saturday on Nov. 26, with a “Forget Football/Would Rather Shop” Day theme. (That is the day of the Ohio State v. Michigan State game). Grab a DORA drink and sip while you shop. Many businesses will be celebrating with drawings for gift cards. ∞
