The Nordonia Knights are the 2022 12u Ohio Prospect League Baseball Tournament champions.

Nordonia High School student athlete Emily Eterovich took third place in the OHSAA Girls Division I Pole Vault and set a new school record height of 12’8”.

Members of the Ledgeview Elementary Running Club completed a race at the Cleveland Zoo on June 4. These students and families raised over $1,200 to help feed the hungry.

The Nordonia High School 4×2 and 4×4 track and field teams claimed 12th place in the OHSAA state competition.

The following Nordonia High School student athletes were chosen for the All-Suburban league in baseball: Kyan Freyhauf, honorable mention; Zach Whetzel, second team; and Dom Perrine, honorable mention.

The following Nordonia students who take classes at Cuyahoga Valley Career Center competed and earned recognition at the state SkillsUSA competition:

Gary Elsbury, education professions program, earned a silver medal in teacher created materials.

Ryan Kinch, engineering technology program, placed second in engineering tech and design.

Eddie Orzel, engineering technology program, placed first in principles of engineering.

Nicholas Schaub, power equipment technology program, finished first in diesel equipment.

Josh Toker, construction trades program, placed third in teamwork.

Marissa Dombrowski, education professions program, placed fourth in children’s literature and ethical dilemma.

Giovanni Adamini, heating and air conditioning program, placed second in HVAC.

Amanda Stanek, student in the sports medicine exercise science program at CVCC, placed third in sports medicine at the state Health Occupations Students of America competition.

NHS senior Maria Cundra, student in CVCC’s digital design class, was selected as student employee of the year. She has three Adobe certifications and designed the 50th anniversary banner and sign for the career center. She plans to attend Kent State University to study visual communication. ∞
