NVASION Studios brings new sound to Sagamore

by Nancy Vondrak

The red brick building on Valley View Road west of the Speedway on Olde Eight Road has been a variety of businesses over the years, but as of the winter of 2021, it’s sporting a new vibe: NVASION Studios.

“NVASION is a recording studio that specializes in recording, mixing and mastering vocal performances,” explained owner Adi Rei, who also wears the hats of producer, engineer, musical artist and songwriter.

“Adi Rei” is his artist name and means “Sound King,” which he said is in homage to everything related to music and sound. Rei, a.k.a. Zachary Matthews, grew up in Macedonia and attended Nordonia Hills City Schools for a number of years. He graduated from Orange High School in 2013 and started working in the audio industry in 2015.

Rei established NVASION Studio in 2018 in a small rental space in Maple Heights. Within the studio, musical artists can rent a recording studio or production studio and have NVASION audio engineers work on the recordings to produce albums. NVASION Studio moved to its current Northfield location in March 2021.

“We needed more space and room. We were growing; it was time,” Rei said. He added that he first noticed the building while visiting his parents, Dana and Mark Matthews, who live in Eaton Estates in Sagamore Hills.

Prior to moving into the building, Rei said, “For two months my dad and I worked on it every day to convert it, to build it out.”

Rei and his father renovated the building into an area with two rentable recording and production studios and a photo shoot area where artists can stage and take photos for album covers or social media posts.

The studio welcomes artists of all genres but specializes in hip-hop, pop, R&B and alternative music. Some well-known hip-hop artists have recorded at NVASION studios and some have also used the studio’s own record label, NVASION Records, to distribute and manage the music.

One of these clients is Freshie, a hip-hop artist who has had millions of streams on Spotify. His latest album hit 600,000 streams in only a week. NVASION Studio also hosted well-known hip-hop artist Doe Boy during the 2022 NBA All-Star weekend in Cleveland.

Rei said NVASION Studios’ vision is to give artists a personalized musical experience. Interested musicians can call or text 216-570-2056 for more information. ∞
