Actress and former pageant competitor opens Bath coaching studio

Heather Habura turned her passion for modeling, etiquette and acting into a business by opening The Crown Studios, 1000 Ghent Rd., in the same plaza as Vaccaro’s Trattoria.

The Bath studio specializes in private modeling instruction, pageant preparation, dance performance and choreography, public speaking, interviewing, acting, etiquette, overall image and personal development.

Habura (nee McDonald) grew up in Bath and graduated from Copley High School and the University of Akron. She started coaching more than 20 years ago after spending five years participating in the Miss America Scholarship program.

Habura won multiple titles during this time, including Miss Greater Cleveland and Miss Akron, and she discovered that helping people find their gifts within themselves, live their truths and pursue their passions was her true calling.

Habura’s classes at Crown Studios are personally tailored one-on-one sessions. They are flexible to fit each student’s schedule and can be held in-person at the studio or via phone or video chat.

The Crown Studios is open to everyone and all ages, from 3 to 103, said Habura.

Her mission is to help students receive the training they need to reach their goals, be it in acting and modeling or to have the skill and confidence to deliver a presentation in front of classmates or colleagues.

“You can be anyone you want to be in this life,” Habura said. “When you leave my studio, you will feel a sense of joy and fulfillment.”

Habura emphasized that she is not a talent agent but rather a teacher, mentor, role model, coach and connector. Her students have held national titles in the Miss America and Miss USA scholarship programs, are successful actors in New York and Los Angeles, served as high school class president, overcome bullying, gained the confidence and etiquette skills to host parties and entertain guests with ease and more.

Habura has appeared in hundreds of TV commercials and website commercials, hosted talk shows, infomercials and red-carpet events, emceed corporate, charity and special events and acted in movies.

She most recently filmed “A Patriot’s Day,’’ a JCFilms production set during the Iraq war. Habura stars as the wife of a soldier alongside Dean Cain, who plays the couple’s pastor.

Habura operated Heather Habura Studios in Pittsburgh for the past 10 years. The pull to be closer to her parents, sister and nieces brought her back to the area.
