Road and bridge levy on November ballot

by Laura Bednar

Bath Township residents will vote on Issue 48 on the Nov. 3 ballot, a tax levy for general construction, reconstruction, resurfacing and repair of streets, roads and bridges in the township.

The levy would renew an existing 2 mills and approve an additional 1.4 mills for a total of 3.4 mills. The Summit County Fiscal Officer estimates the levy would collect $2.29 million annually, costing taxpayers $94 for each $100,000 of county-appraised property value. If passed, the levy would last five years, commencing in 2027 with first collections in 2028.
