SPIN with STEM at Bath Nature Preserve

Apr29

11:00 am - 3:00 pm

Spring is a special time at the Bath Nature Preserve and to make it more enticing, youngsters in grades K-5 are invited to Spring into Nature with STEM (science, technology, engineering, math), a free, family-friendly event.

SPIN with STEM will be on Saturday, April 29, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m., rain or shine. The second annual science- and nature-themed day will again be held at The University of Akron Field Station at Bath Nature Preserve, 4240 Ira Rd. Kindergarten through fifth-graders (though older or younger students are welcome to join in the fun) must preregister at bit.ly/SPINwithSTEM.

The University of Akron Field Station, Bath Township Park Board, and Bath Township organized the event to showcase the many ways to explore nature through: Health and exercise; Flowers and plants; Birds and Bees; Reptiles and Mammals; Water and Soil; and Planets and Stars.

This event will feature complementary hands-on activities at more than 20 stations, plus a trail discovery card, photography, storywalk, bookmobile, celestial observatory, food cart and more. Students can take part in multiple stations, or choose those that pique their interest. They will receive a nature journal and tote to take home that includes some of the things they learned during the event.
