Music at Bath Concert Series

The Music at Bath Concert Series continues with a performance by Wit’s Folly chamber ensemble on Friday, May 17, at 7 p.m. in the Historic Chapel of The Bath Church, 3980 West Bath Rd. The ensemble will perform “Émigré: French Refugees in the Early United States and the Music They Brought with Them,” including works by André Grétry, Ignace Pleyel, Michel Yost and others. The program takes its inspiration from historic concerts performed by French émigrés in the 1790s.

On May 19, Singers Companye, one of northeast Ohio’s premiere chamber choirs, will present “Jubilate Deo” at 4 p.m. in the Sanctuary of The Bath Church. The performance will feature Dan Forrest’s choral work in “Jubilate Deo,” which draws on the traditional Psalm 100 text to celebrate the joy of all the earth utilizing seven different languages and musical styles. Audience members will also hear modern works by Randall Thompson, Jocelyn Hagen, Jacob Narverud and Paul John Rudoi. Joining Singers Companye are the VoxMix Ensemble and guest instrumentalists. ∞
