Mindful Monday, Community Health and Wellness Event

Revere Community C.A.R.E. is sponsoring Mindful Monday, a Revere Community Health and Wellness Event on Monday, Feb. 26, 5:30-8 p.m., at Revere High School. At 6 and 6:30 p.m., there will be half-hour information and breakout session regarding health and wellness subjects. Topics will include coping techniques, food and mental health, dangerous apps/cyberbullying/school safety, and Zentangle (doodling) for stress relief.

Hunter Frey-Burkhart will speak from 7-8 p.m. about "Mental Health: What's Going on in Your Brain?" His presentation will address the differences between people’s brains and the biology of how brains change under chronic stress. Hunter is a senior at Kent State University majoring in neuroscience and is president of KSU’s Active Minds Chapter, which promotes mental health awareness and education for young adults. He is also president of the KSU Neuroscience Club.

The Richfield Branch Library will have a pop-up library and several activities for kids. Event attendees will be able to interact with K9 Caring Angel therapy dogs. The RHS National Art Honor Society will offer face painting. Several local mental health agencies will have information booths at the event.

The Heartbeats Jump Rope team will perform from 5:30-6 p.m. Swenson’s and Dewey’s Pizza food trucks will be on site. Desserts and beverages will also be available for purchase.
