Master Rain Gardener – Spring Courses

The Cuyahoga Soil & Water Conservation District, Chagrin River Watershed Partners and Lake County Soil & Water Conservation District are offering five Master Rain Gardener courses in 2023. Each course consists of five classes held over a six-week period.

Participants will learn how to design, install and maintain residential rain gardens. Rain gardens are saucer-shaped gardens filled with native plants that are designed to collect, filter, and soak up stormwater runoff from roofs, driveways and lawns that would otherwise flow untreated into storm drains and streams. Rain gardens can improve localized flooding issues and increase wildlife habitat. When replicated across the region, they can make a significant impact in protecting the water quality of local streams and Lake Erie.

The spring in-person course runs Wednesdays from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. starting March 1 through April 5, at the South Euclid Community Center in South Euclid. The only option is a residential track for $75.

A recorded self-paced online format is available year-round for those that need flexibility. Feedback is provided virtually. Only a residential track is offered at $50.
