Annual tree lighting is Nov. 27

“Come Home for the Holidays” and participate in Richfield’s annual tree lighting ceremony on Friday, Nov. 27. The festivities will begin at 6 p.m. at the southeast corner of Broadview Road and West Streetsboro Road, where each attendee will receive a miniature lantern to help illuminate the night for the traditional tree lighting and carol singing.

Following the arrival of Santa aboard retired Fire Chief Phil McLean’s 1940 fire truck, attendees will head to Masonic Hall, where they’ll receive this year’s commemorative holiday pin. A limited supply of pins from previous years will also be available.

Attendees can enjoy cookies, hot chocolate and punch while visiting with friends and neighbors. Children will have the opportunity to meet Santa and have their photos taken with him.

The Richfield Civic Organization hosts the event.

Meridian Sun Lodge No. 69 will host an open house in conjunction with the tree lighting on the second floor of Masonic Hall. Attendees are invited to join lodge members upstairs before and after the lighting to learn about the lodge’s history and its ties to the community.

Sing along with neighbors and friends or just enjoy the festivities to open the holiday season.
