New Day Organics aims to make ‘a new day for your skin’

Noreen Roman realized the impact her organic skincare products had on her clients when she worked as a doula, a person who offers various types of support to a woman through pregnancy and labor.

“I started making products and offering them to the women I met as a doula. They loved the products so much, and encouraged me to make more skincare products,” said Roman. “Eventually I created a business where I created the products in my barn, but I have now happily outgrown that space, and am moving the retail operation to the new Ghent Square store.”

On Oct. 17, she opened a brick-and-mortar skincare boutique shop called New Day Organics at 843 N. Cleveland-Massillon Rd. The store offers “skincare with a purpose” to local shoppers and online customers around the country.

Roman, who is a clinical chemist, microbiologist and former doula, has brought her multifaceted experience to the new store, which features a full line of skincare products including soaps, deodorants and facial products. Customers can also participate in a Beauty Bar experience, where Roman leads individuals or groups in customized, hands-on curated skincare experiences.

“Opening our retail storefront in Ghent Square gives us the wonderful opportunity to connect face-to-face with our neighbors,” said Roman, adding that her dream was to meet customers in person, allowing a connection not available with an online-only store.

The human connection continues through the Beauty Bar, as Roman said it is an experience customers can have with their best friends, bridal parties or indulge in as a self-care event.

Roman said that what makes the business unique is her ability to create products backed by science.

“New Day Organics is an eco-artisan clean beauty brand, which creates products in micro batches,” Roman explained.

She said that the science-based formulas mean her products work well for all types of skin, including mature, sensitive and those prone to dermatitis. She added that her products actually make skin healthier.

“Every New Day Organics batch is formulated with premium, organic ingredients which are both natural and effective,” said Roman. “So customers do not need to choose between one or the other.”

Even Roman’s product packaging is environmentally friendly and a portion of every New Day Organics purchase goes to local philanthropic initiatives, she explained.

Another hallmark of Roman’s product line is to provide products that help skin during any time of year. Her seasonal skincare collection is now available for customers to protect their skin before winter dries it out.
