To the Editor:
I am voting for Noah Spinner, a Democrat, to represent District 31 in the Ohio House of Representatives. We need a change. We need to address property taxes … now.
The current party running Columbus talks big when they say they’re “eliminating waste” or “tackling fraud.” These are just code words for cuts, cuts and more cuts to our communities. Then, our communities, especially townships, have no other choice but to raise property taxes to cover schools, roads, fire and police.
Have you ever seen Columbus eliminate “waste” and “fraud” and then use that extra money to provide more benefits to efficient and honest communities? No, of course not, they use that money to cut taxes for their big donors. Yes, we get some crumbs just so they can say we got cuts too, but we lose those crumbs and more to higher property taxes.
I want a change to property taxes. After experiencing the same old game plan the last 12 years, I’m convinced this will only happen if we change Columbus. Noah Spinner is that change. He will honor and reward efficient, honest communities like Bath.
If you care about your property taxes, I am asking you to vote for Noah, too.
