Police Beat

July 1—Police responded to a report of an unwanted person at a property on Valley View Road. The man in question had a warrant out of Beachwood and, due to his excited state, was believed to be under the influence of narcotics. He was released after being advised of criminal trespass.

July 2—A customer and manager of a pizza shop on Olde 8 Road engaged in a verbal argument. A postal worker reportedly ordered a pizza for lunch and said the order was wrong and refused to pay. The shop owner then threw the boxed pizza at his face. She stated that his order did not qualify for the lunch special and the argument was over money. She said he had taken off his shirt and raised a fist at her, so she threw the pizza for self-defense.

July 3—A Pugwash Circle resident reported her back window shattered near her sliding door. It is unknown what damaged the window, but a glass company stated it could have been a possible impact from something.

July 5—Officers responded to a Countryside Drive residential area for a missing person report. Sagamore police organized the search with the Northfield Village Police Department K-9 unit conducting a track and Macedonia Fire Department responding with floodlights to illuminate the area. The person was found during an aerial search, unconscious and 30 feet from the edge of the lake in the area.

July 7—A man recently quit his job after having a verbal argument with his manager. He said the manager sent threatening text messages afterwards. Police advised him to block the phone number and have no further contact.

July 10—A Tinkers Lane resident reported that a contractor whom she had fired arrived unexpectedly asking for payment and asserting that he still had tools and property left inside her house. She stated she left all materials in the driveway, and police told the contractor to stop texting her about payment. He was also trespassed from the property. Anything further must be handled in small claims court.

July 11—Police dispatched an injured groundhog that had been run over by a vehicle on West Aurora Road.

July 14—Officers responded to Bridgewater Lane for a report of a psychiatric situation. A 19-year-old had intentionally ingested medication in an attempt at self-harm. The female is actively receiving mental health treatment and was transported to the hospital.

July 15—An animal complaint was made at an Amherst Drive home. Two dog owners were walking their dogs and dropped the leashes so the dogs could play with each other. The dogs ran toward a third person in the area, who stated she was in fear of her safety and hit one of the dogs with a stick. No people or dogs were injured.

July 18—An Amazon driver accidentally hit a garage door on Chandler Court when she realized the car was not fully in park. There was no damage to the vehicle, but there was a crease in the overhead garage door.

July 22—A male resident reported that his ex-girlfriend is pregnant with his child and had been damaging his reputation by talking to his friends and family. He intends to pursue a protection order. Police contacted the ex-girlfriend to advise her not to contact the man unless it pertained to her pregnancy, and to cease communication with his friends and family.
