Everbowl receives warm welcome in Hudson

by Emily Canning-Dean

After opening Everbowl at 5 Atterbury Blvd. on July 25, franchise owner Christian Heller has been thrilled with the reception the business has received.

“We had a record opening with a line around the block,” he said. “The community has really embraced us.”

Heller is a resident of Aurora, but said he looked at a number of locations to open the business and knew Hudson would be a great fit.

“I couldn’t be happier with the economic development department which really helped us navigate the waters,” he said. “I’m thankful to the chamber of commerce and also the mayor and council coming out to support us. Everbowl provides something we really didn’t have in this area.”

The menu at Everbowl includes bowls and smoothies made with nutrient-packed ingredients for those who are health conscious but still want something delicious, according to Heller.

“Pretty much everything is made from the earth,” he said. “We are soy-free and dairy-free and our granola is gluten-free. It’s all stuff that moves and fuels you and makes you feel good. I think a lot of people have been surprised because they thought we just had breakfast bowls, but the bowls are pretty big and can really be made into a meal. With all the different bases and toppings, you can practically have a different bowl every day for a year and our smoothies are basically bowls in a blender.”

After years of working in the corporate world, Heller said he never thought he would become a small business owner.

“One day my daughter came home and said she wanted to have a fruit stand,” he explained. “She and my wife, who is a teacher in Aurora, started becoming interested in the business, and now here we are and I’m excited to be doing this. All four of my kids have been working at the store, and we all have been enjoying it.”

Heller currently employs a staff of about 20 and has already set his sights on getting involved in the community. The evening of the first Hudson home football game, Everbowl’s hours were extended until 11 p.m., so customers could stop in before or after the game. Customers also had the opportunity to win a gift card by casting their vote for their favorite bowl, the nutty bowl or the acai bowl.

“We already have a bunch of football decorations up,” Heller said. “We wanted to just create a fun night for the community.”

Heller said that in the future, there is a possibility of opening up other locations, but right now he is excited to be part of the community in Hudson.

Everbowl’s regular hours are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. each day. For more information, visit everbowl.com or the Everbowl Hudson Facebook page. ∞
