May 15 – Police responded to a Tollis Parkway residence after receiving a report that an 81-year-old male fell down the stairs and was unresponsive. Upon arrival, the individual was found lying at the bottom of the staircase and was pronounced deceased shortly thereafter. The victim’s wife told officers the man had been feeling ill and had gotten up to vomit when the incident occurred. No foul play is suspected.    

May 18 – The driver of a Cadillac Escalade was cited on charges of having a weapon under disability after he was pulled over on Interstate 77 for driving without a license plate. Officers found a loaded, stolen gun in the vehicle and two outstanding warrants for the driver.

May 19 – The passenger in a vehicle pulled over for speeding on state Route 82 was arrested on narcotics possession. The passenger claimed ownership of the syringes filled with liquid and was found to have a warrant for her arrest on charges of dangerous drugs. She was taken into custody and cited on charges of amphetamine and heroin possession, possession of narcotics equipment and possession of drug paraphernalia.

May 20 – Police responded to an E. Royalton Road business after a clerk reported a cell phone valued at nearly $1,100 was stolen from a locked case by three men who initially came into the store to pay their pre-paid phone bills. Police are attempting to locate the suspects using camera footage. A report has been forwarded to the detective bureau for future theft charges.
