Open auditions for ‘The Christmas Experience, Hope is Alive’, June 17

The ABBA Dance Christmas experience is holding auditions for its December performance of “The Christmas Experience; Hope is Alive.” Auditions will take place on June 17at the ABBA Dance Studio, 1586 Center Rd., in Hinckley (the former Hinckley Elementary School).

The audition process is simple. There is a short dance assessment for each age group (7-10 and 11 and up) followed by brief individual interviews. The show is completely pantomime. All show participants must enroll in ABBA Dance for the fall 2024 semester. For the named character roles, there will be callbacks the following week. Dancers who are called back will be sent a video of choreography to learn for their callback.

The ABBA Dance Christmas Experience is a faith-centered dance production that combines elements of classic stories, like “The Nutcracker “and “A Christmas Carol,” the nostalgia of popular 20th century Christmas songs, and the depth of the Biblical Christmas story to provide a program that encompasses every aspect of Christmas is a touching, heartfelt production. Using multiple style of dance, choreography and costumes, audiences will be immersed into the story unfolding before them and join main character, Mara, as she journeys back in time to find the true meaning of Christmas.
