Bath honors heroes through annual Memorial Day celebration
Bath Township will hold its annual commemoration to honor township veterans and reflect on the sacrifices made for our freedom at this year’s Memorial Day observance on Monday, May 27, at noon.
All residents and guests are invited to join this meaningful event held at Bath Memorial Park at 3840 W. Bath Rd., the southeast corner of the intersection of Cleveland-Massillon and Bath roads. The park will be filled with solemnity and gratitude as community members pay tribute to those who have served the country with courage and dedication.
This year’s program will feature esteemed speakers including Lt. Col. Ron Smetana, U.S. Army, retired, who will share his insights and experiences as the distinguished speaker.
Additionally, the ceremony will showcase the talents of local youth. Harper Rainey, a fifth-grade student at Bath Elementary School, will share her insightful essay, “What does Freedom in America mean to me.” Harper’s words will provide a unique perspective and remind everyone of the importance of preserving the freedoms we all hold dear.
Musical tributes courtesy of the Revere Marching Band and Revere Chorale members will serve as a fitting accompaniment to the reflections on this day.
One of the highlights of the celebration will be an Air Force flyover from the 910th Airlift Wing at Youngstown Air Reserve Station.
For the convenience of attendees, parking will be available in the Bath Township Administration lots, with shuttles running for those in need of assistance. While some seating will be provided, everyone is encouraged to bring their own chairs to ensure comfort during the ceremony.
Following the event, guests are invited to visit the Bath Township Museum, where the new exhibit “Agriculture: The Foundation of Bath Township” will be featured.
Bath welcomes all to the Memorial Day event for a day of reflection, gratitude and unity. ∞
