Buzz fundraiser nets $19K for classrooms

The Brecksville-Broadview Heights Schools Foundation, in collaboration with the

Brecksville-Broadview Heights City School District, has announced that its annual fundraiser raised more than $19,000 to benefit its classroom enrichment grant program.

Buzz Around the World with the Schools Foundation 2024: A Global Tasting to Support Classroom Grants took place on Thursday, Feb. 22, at Carpe Raci in Brecksville. Nearly 100 attendees enjoyed wine samples from four global regions paired with delicious light bites.

Foundation members said they were pleased to see several school board members, district administrators, past grant recipients and community members in attendance.

In conjunction with the event, the Foundation held an online auction, featuring popular packages from Sullivan Orthodontics, Toth Painting Solutions, Event Source, Brecksville Theater, Senior VIP Graduation seats, campus Street Sign naming, restaurant packages, and many more.

All proceeds from the event will fund this year’s classroom enrichment grant program benefiting students in all buildings in the BBH school district. This year’s grants will be awarded in August. Past classroom grant recipients can be viewed at bbhsf.org/teacher-grants.

Community leaders formed the Brecksville-Broadview Heights Schools Foundation in 1992 to provide programs that enrich the educational experiences of the district’s students.  The Schools Foundation accomplishes this goal by:

  • Offering special classroom experiences not normally provided by the school district.
  • Expanding recognition of student achievement through scholarships.
  • Encouraging teacher creativity in the classroom with special program and enrichment grants.
  • Involving the community in the support of schools.

The nonprofit Foundation is directed by a volunteer board of trustees made up of community members and educators.  It was formed under the authority of the Brecksville-Broadview Heights City School District’s Board of Education.
