MCBDD offers scholarship

The Medina County Board of Developmental Disabilities is offering a $1,500 scholarship to a local high school senior in Medina County. The scholarship was founded to recognize and support individuals pursuing a career that serves individuals with developmental disabilities.

The Medina County Board of Developmental Disabilities Donor Scholarship will award one $1,500 scholarship this year. The Donated Funds Committee raises these funds through a series of events and activities along with corporate and private donations throughout the year. Applicants must be a current high school senior and have been accepted into an accredited training program in a field that may provide services to individuals with developmental disabilities, including special education, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, social work, behavioral sciences and more. Applicants must also demonstrate involvement with or have provided services to individuals with developmental disabilities through activities such as Special Olympics, classroom activities, volunteering, job shadowing, etc.
