Mayor’s Corner by Mayor Michael Wheeler

I want to wish everyone a safe and happy Easter, Passover and spring break.  If you are traveling by car, please drive carefully.

The tennis and pickleball courts are out to bid.  We should have results back by March 15.

Please welcome Cynthia Kilgore, our newest police officer, as well as Thomas (Bart) Randolf and Mike Testa as our newest police sergeants.

The Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee met on Feb. 21, and will meet again on March 20. These meetings are open to the public but are not public-input forums regarding specific topics. The final public input forum is scheduled for April 17 at the Quality Inn and will focus on the south end of town. Specifically, this public forum will focus on the Brecksville Road corridor from Wheatley to Everett Road. The future use of the former Consolidated Freightways property, along with other key parcels, will be discussed. The south-end public forum will be held from 6-8 p.m. Postcards and flyers will be distributed well in advance of the meeting. The final event is planned for May 15, and it will be a presentation of the draft plan to a joint meeting of the steering committee, planning commission and village council. We anticipate completing the adoption process of the final plan by the end of June.
