Rethinking Recycling with ReWorks: ReWorks’ Recycling Days

by Marcie E. Kress, Executive Director, ReWorks

ReWorks’ mission is to provide solutions and leadership to empower our community, institutions, and businesses to develop and utilize environmentally sound, cost-effective recycling and waste management strategies. We do this by promoting materials management through education on waste reduction, promoting reuse of materials, supporting existing infrastructure providing recycling opportunities within our community and creating opportunities where infrastructure is lacking.

ReWorks began hosting Recycling Days, collections of hard to recycle items, after recognizing a need and desire for recycling specific materials with limited to no options in Summit County. The materials selected for collection are common items that ReWorks has been able to find and secure vendors to recycle responsibly. To encourage participation in keeping these materials out of the landfill and to make these services as accessible as possible, Recycling Days are free events open to both Summit County residents and businesses.

This spring, ReWorks will be hosting two more Recycling Days events at 1201 Graham Rd. in Stow.

April Recycling Days will be April 22-24, and April 26 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

May Recycling Days will be May 6-8, and May 10 from 2-6 p.m.

We hope you’ll save the dates and your materials to bring to ReWorks!
