Dec. 30—Police encountered a disabled vehicle on I-480E. During a probable cause search of the vehicle, officers found marijuana, firearms and $550 in cash. The driver and two passengers were cited for attempted drug trafficking and marijuana paraphernalia.

Dec. 31—A vehicle struck the meridian on I-480E and was disabled. Officers cited the driver for operation without reasonable control. In the vehicle were marijuana, a firearm and a digital scale. The firearm, which one of the three vehicle passengers claimed was his, was confirmed stolen from the Cleveland Police Department. He was booked into Independence jail for receiving stolen property.

Jan. 1—Officers were dispatched to a disabled vehicle on E. Pleasant Valley Road. The driver was found sleeping with numerous bills in U.S. currency in his hands and within the vehicle. He was charged with OVI and driving under suspension. After a search of the vehicle, officers found marijuana, digital scales and a firearm. The suspect had over $8,000 on his person and received an additional felony charge for carrying a concealed weapon when not qualified due to an open case in Cleveland.

Jan. 7—Police detained a male in a Rockside Woods Boulevard hotel parking lot for firearms violation and multiple active warrants. A female owned the vehicle in the parking lot where the gun was found and denied driving the car and denied the male taking control of the gun. She will face indictment for falsification and related charges.

Jan. 18—During a traffic stop on Quarry Lane, officers cited a male for driving under suspension and traffic violations. He was also given criminal summons for attempted drug abuse and being in possession of methamphetamine. The driver said he was meeting a prostitute at a Quarry Lane hotel.

Jan. 19—A female was arrested at a Jefferson Drive hotel for prostitution and possession of criminal tools.
