Emerald Necklace Garden Club

At the March 14 meeting of the Emerald Necklace Garden Club, Emily Viland, president of the Ikebana Club, will demonstrate the art of Ikebana and provide a history of this cherished Japanese art of flower arranging.

Ikebana involves beautifully arranging cut stems, leaves and flowers in vases and other containers. The art form reflects the Japanese aesthetic sense and philosophy that has evolved in Japan over seven centuries as a way of connecting with nature and expressing creativity.

ENGC meets the second Thursday of every month, except July and August, at 9:15 a.m., at Christ the Redeemer Lutheran Church, 9201 Brecksville Rd. Guests are always welcome to attend meetings. Visit the club’s website, EmeraldNecklaceGardenClub.org, for information on meetings, special events and other club activities. ∞
