Trustees Corner by Trustees Monique Ascherl, Cyntia Engleman & Jack Swedyk

Happy New Year Hinckley! We hope you enjoyed a beautiful holiday with family and friends. With a new board in place, we decided to bring back our monthly update for all of you.

At our Jan. 2 meeting, trustee liaisons were decided. Trustee Jack Swedyk, board chair, will handle police, service and parks. Trustee Monique Ascherl, vice chair, will handle fire, administration and solid waste and recycling. Trustee Cyntia Engleman will handle zoning and cemeteries. If you need any information on any of these departments, please do not hesitate to reach out to us via email or phone. Our contact info can be found on the website,  hinckleytwp.org .

Also at the Jan. 2 meeting, resident John Kalas was appointed to fulfill Trustee Engleman’s seat on the zoning commission. Matt Marzullo and Lindsey Wrubel were both reappointed to their five-year appointments as well. Likewise, representatives from the Ohio Department of Transportation attended the meeting and explained the new crosswalk lights that will be installed at state Route 303 and Ridge Road in the spring along with a new traffic light.

Trustees will begin discussing their “wish list” items during the work session scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 30, at 4 p.m. The discussion will center on various areas of the township trustees and the public would like to see improved. Residents with any suggestions are encouraged to attend the meeting or email any trustee.

The zoning commission has recommended several text amendment changes and the board will host a public hearing in February to discuss these changes. Please check the township’s website for the meeting date and time.

We hope you all stay safe and warm during our coldest months. ∞
