Galek’s volunteerism speaks volumes

To the Editor:

As a Brecksville resident, parent and voter, I am casting my ballot for Lisa Galek for the Brecksville-Broadview Heights School Board. Lisa has shown her commitment to the children of our school district through her years-long commitment to volunteerism in the schools, which includes holding various positions in the Parent-Student Organization. She served as Hilton Elementary School PSO Fundraising Chair and Treasurer (2018-2022), BBH Middle School Treasurer (2021-2023), BBH Band Boosters Publicity Chair (2022-present),and BBH Elementary School PSO Fundraising Chair (2022-present). The children of our district have benefited from tens of thousands of dollars raised under Lisa’s fundraising leadership.

In addition to Lisa’s leadership positions, she worked as a volunteer for the BBH Bond (2018) and Levy (2017) campaigns. Lisa is a natural communicator and is invested in increasing transparency in our district. She has faithfully attended school board meetings for years, taking detailed notes and sharing them on the BBH School Board Highlights Facebook page, which she independently created. This website has helped me and hundreds of other parents stay up to date on school district news.

I encourage all BBH residents to visit lisagalek.com/bbh/ to learn more about Lisa, and to join me in voting for her on Nov. 7. ∞
