Music at Bath concert series debuts this weekend

The Bath Church, United Church of Christ has rolled out an ambitious yearlong schedule of free concerts by local and regional musicians. Performances will be held in three distinct venues on the campus located at 3980 W. Bath Rd.: the Sanctuary, the Historic Chapel, and the lawn (for the upcoming summer lawn concerts in 2024).

The Music at Bath Concert Series kicks off Sept. 15-17 with two performances that weekend. On Friday, Sept. 15 at 7 p.m., Wit’s Folly – a chamber music ensemble from Cleveland – will perform in the Historic Chapel. Sunday, Sept. 17 will feature Singers Companye at 4 p.m. in the Sanctuary.

Director of Music Timothy Eck said, “We have three distinct venues that can host a variety of types and styles of musical performances. Our vision for the Music at Bath Concert Series is one that seeks to present accessible, creative, and high-quality musical programs that will inform, inspire, and enrich the lives of the diverse communities in Northeast Ohio.”

Laura Pulliam, co-manager of the Music at Bath Concert Series, said, “We are excited about offering this concert series as a way for communities to connect through music.  All concerts are free to the public. Concert costs, including fees paid to performers, will be covered by donations at concerts and sponsorships.”

Included in this inaugural fall season will be the Burning River Brass on Saturday, Dec. 16, at 7:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary.

“We are excited about the upcoming summer lawn concerts set for June, July, and August 2024,” Eck said. “June will feature The Best of Broadway; July – Bands on the Lawn; August – An Evening of Jazz.”
