Athletic boosters kick off 5K fundraiser

The Hudson Athletic Booster Club is sponsoring the first annual Explorer 5K and 1-Mile Loop to benefit Hudson High School student athletes. Avid runners can tackle the 5K through the Hudson High School campus to Hudson Springs Park and back to the school, while others can take on a 1-mile loop around the high school campus. There will also be a kids’ fun run in Memorial Stadium.

This family friendly event takes place Sunday, Sept. 24, at Hudson High School, 2500 Hudson-Aurora Rd. The registration fee for the 5K or the 1-Mile Loop is $35 and will include a long-sleeve race shirt. To register for the 5K or 1-mile loop, visit hudsonboosterclub.org/race. Same-day registration begins at 8 a.m. (Race apparel not guaranteed.) The 5K race starts at 9 a.m. and the 1-mile loop will follow at 9:15 a.m. Awards will be given to the top male and female winners.

The free fun run starts at 9:30 a.m. Registration is not required. The day also will feature tons of raffles for great prizes.

The Hudson Athletic Booster Club provides financial support through various fundraising efforts to the Hudson High School student athletes. Last year, HABC raised over $90,000 that was used for new uniforms, facility/capital improvements, scholarships and various grant requests made by coaches. ∞
