Master Gardeners to share yard inspiration at fall workshop

Conversations about “no-mow May” and “leaving the weeds” have made many gardeners curious about alternatives for the home yard. The Master Gardener Volunteers in Medina invite the public to be inspired by their lawn alternatives. Little steps to leave some weeds, add rain gardens, or incorporate native plants into the landscape can make small changes to improve your yard’s pollinator-friendliness without a whole renovation.

The OSU Master Gardener Volunteers of Medina County will host their fall seminar, “Your Yard Inch-by-Inch: Alternative Home Lawn Ideas” on Saturday, Sept.16 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. at the OSU Extension Office, located at 4046 Medina Rd., Medina at the corner of Route 18 and Foote Rd. Doors open at 9 a.m. Master Gardeners will share their personal lawn renovation journey and tips on changing your lawn inch by inch.

The event includes light refreshments, door prizes and handouts. Pre-registration is required. Cost is $10 per person. Registration forms can be found online at medina.osu.edu.
