Jan. 17 township trustees meeting

Township trustees approved the appointments of Same Rose and Scott Grenigh as firefighters.

Rose is a former employee of the Cleveland EMS and Grenig was with the South Euclid and Twinsburg Fire Departments before making the move to Hinckley.

Trustees also appointed Michael Shamblin as a new patrol officer for the Hinckley Township Police Department.

During the meeting, Hinckley resident and recently appointed member of the township’s zoning commission, Cyntia Engleman, announced her plans to run for the one open seat on the township board of trustees in the November election.

At this time, no one else has indicated their intention to run for the seat now occupied by trustee Melissa Augustine, who has served five years as a trustee including as trustee chairperson. Augustine also has not indicated whether she plans to run for reelection in the fall. ∞
