Hudson Conservatory of Ballet presents ‘The Nutcracker’

To celebrate the start of the holiday season, Hudson Conservatory of Ballet will present two performances of “The Nutcracker” at Cuyahoga Falls High School on Saturday Nov. 26, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 27, at 2 p.m.

Currently in its 9th season, Hudson Conservatory of Ballet has made its traditional version of the classic holiday ballet a staple in the community for the past seven years. Directors Eric Carvill and Sunita Joshi started this annual tradition in 2015, and now presents the full ballet with over 100 dancers in the cast.

This year’s production includes new features in every scene. Act One will include added roles, costumes and props as well as a growing tree drop for an even more dramatic Battle Scene between the Nutcracker and Mouse Queen. A magical sleigh will appear at the end of the Snow Scene to transport Clara and her Prince to the Land of the Sweets. In the second act, Clara and the Prince will be presented with various sweets from all over the world with dances showcasing intricate choreography and handmade costumes.

Tickets are $25 and can be purchased through HCB’s website, hudsonconservatory.com, or at the door. Performances will be held at Cuyahoga Falls High School located at 2300 4th St. in Cuyahoga Falls. Theater doors will open 30 minutes prior to the start of each performance.
