Congratulations, graduates of the Class of 2021. Your high school experience was certainly unique, but you persevered. Wherever life takes you, remember the community that helped form you into the person you have become.

Lois Hover accepted an appointment to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.

Rushwood Elementary School fourth-grader Ava Jacquet received a perfect score of 20 in the last of three meets in this year’s WordMasters Challenge. Nationally, only 51 fourth-graders achieved this result out of nearly 125,000 students that participated in the national vocabulary competition.

Leigh Ellis, second shift custodian at Ledgeview Elementary, was nominated for the Akron Beacon Journal’s “Make the Grade Difference Makers Award.”

Daniel Pharris was among the early top qualifiers in Norwalk’s Professional Drag Racing Association trials.

Northfield wine and spirits importer Joe Zaucha won a gold medal in the Vodka category at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition for the Polotsk vodka he imports from Belarus.

The Nordonia chapter of Best Buddies, an international organization that pairs special needs high school students with peer buddies, wrapped up the school year with the Best Buddies Olympics at the high school’s Boliantz stadium.
