Mental Health First Aid training
Oct 03
In response to our nation's mental health crisis, State of Mind: Hudson will host a Mental Health First Aid training Saturday, Oct. 3, at the Hudson Library. This training will offer community members an opportunity to build practical skills for recognizing and responding to mental health and substance use challenges in adults ages 18 and over.
Mental Health First Aid is a skills-based training that teaches people how to identify, understand and respond to signs and symptoms of a mental health or substance use challenge. More than half of Americans will be diagnosed with a mental health or substance use challenge in their life, but many are reluctant to seek help or don't know where to turn for care. Similar to physical first aid and CPR, the program provides participants with an action plan designed to help them safely and responsibly respond to a potential challenge and connect someone with appropriate help.
State of Mind: Hudson will cover the full cost of the training for participants as part of its commitment to expanding access to mental health education in the community.
Community members who are interested in receiving more information about participating in the training may contact State of Mind: Hudson at stateofmindhudson@gmail.com.
