Superintendent’s Column
by Dan White
What a great start we have had to the 2026-27 school year! It has been wonderful to see our students and staff back in our buildings, and I am excited about all that lies ahead for Revere Local Schools.
Our transportation department has also had a strong start, with buses running smoothly each day. We are nearly fully staffed but are still looking for a few additional bus drivers and substitute drivers. Paid training is available. If you are interested in joining our team, contact Transportation Supervisor AJ Neitenbach at 330-523-3119.
This fall, we will also begin a soft launch of Stopfinder, a transportation app requested by our community. We anticipate a full launch in mid- to late November.
On Aug. 20, we celebrated our Fall Extravaganza and Kindergarten-to-Senior Journey Walk. It was a beautiful evening and a wonderful celebration of our students and community. This event continues to grow each year, and I am grateful to everyone who helped make it so special. Be sure to check our website and social media for video highlights.
During our staff convocation the following day, we recognized three outstanding members of our Revere team: Bath Elementary teacher Michelle George and Revere Middle School social studies teacher Dawn Cancelliere received the Revere Schools Recognition for Teacher Excellence Award. Phil Tacke, head custodian at Revere High School, was named OAPSE Employee of the Year. Congratulations to all three!
We were also proud to showcase Revere High School on Cleveland 19 News on Sept. 4. Our students and staff represented Revere beautifully throughout the live broadcast.
And there is more to celebrate! Revere High School seniors Eli Brackett, Laura Fondran, Deven Gupta, Nathan Johns, Caden Jones, Michael Mark and Ayushman Mukherjee have been named semifinalists in the 2027 National Merit Scholarship Program. This is an incredible accomplishment, and I am extremely proud of these students.
Finally, I encourage our families to join us for our new Revere ParentEd Talks series. These free sessions will cover topics including Ohio’s attendance and truancy law, IEP transition services, anxiety and teens, bullying, and ETRs, IEPs and 504s. Please visit our website and social media for the complete schedule.
I hope these conversations provide valuable information, increase transparency and strengthen the partnership between our schools and families to ensure that every student thrives.
Go Minutemen!
