Revere notes
Compiled by S. Ocker
Principal Doug Faris introduced three Revere High student leaders to the board of education.
Michael Mark is senior class president for the 2026-27 school year; Alivia Gardner is president of student council; Kareem Safadi is president of National Honor Society.
Mark is captain of the football team and a member of the track team and participates in Revere’s Model U.N. program. He plans to study aerospace engineering in college.
Gardner participates in Active Minds and Key Club and is a member of the volleyball team. She intends to study pediatric dentistry at either Ohio State or Kentucky.
Safadi is a member of Mu Alpha Theta, the mathematics honor society, and the International Club. He plans to study biology at Florida State in preparation for dental school.
Superintendent Dan White will hold four Listening and Learning sessions, where parents and other community members can question White on two topics: joining the lawsuit to limit the state’s voucher program and a proposal by the Revere board of education to allow a nonvoting high school student to be an unofficial board member.
White will be available on the following dates: Sept. 23 from 4-5 p.m. on Zoom; Sept. 24 from noon to 1 p.m. on Zoom; Sept. 29 from 5-6 p.m. in person at the Administration Building; Oct. 1 from 3-4 p.m. in person at the Administration Building.
To participate, people must register on a community-wide email sent by the district.
Among the 60 students who tried out, eight earned the right to be the “Voices of Bath” and do the morning video announcements within the school.
The group is composed of Olivia Celiberto, Bea Montezuma, Duda Montezuma, Londyn Capps, Josh Jones, Wyatt Miles, Clara Miller and Savannah Meneses.
Revere High senior Ethan Douglas, a French horn player in the band, has been accepted into the Ohio Music Education Association All-State Band.
Douglas will join other high school musicians from across Ohio to perform at the OMEA State Conference Jan. 27-30 in Columbus.
The Revere Middle School open house featured a tour of upgrades to the building and grounds, including fewer trees in the courtyards and the inclusion of a garden in the cafeteria courtyard. The library has new furniture, and the choir and bandroom has been revamped.
The Revere volleyball team took first place in the JV Gold Division at the Cedar Point Summer High School Spiketacular.
Led by coach Grace Milano, the team included Addi Baron, Giada Bertolotti, Francesca Camardo, Emmie Fox, Ella Karwowski, Alaina Kestner, Nora
Loescher, Grace Smith, Lilly Sprang and Violette Vukoder.
Longtime Revere teachers and best friends Molly Brittain and Dawn Peters are beginning a new chapter this fall, moving from fourth grade at Bath Elementary
School to first grade at Richfield Elementary, after teaching together for 16 years.
The two met as fourth-grade teachers on the third floor of the old Bath Elementary
School and have been best friends ever since. When two first-grade positions became available, they decided they were ready for a new challenge. They jumped at the opportunity and were even more excited when they learned their new classrooms would be right next door to each other.
