Student artwork highlighted at Revere ‘Celebration of the Arts’

The Revere High School auxiliary gym was filled from wall to wall with student artwork during the annual Revere Celebration of the Arts May 4-7.

The event, presented by the Revere PTAs, showcased art from students in all grade levels; categories included painting, drawing, ceramics, photography, sculptures and mixed media. A total of 25 high school senior booths were designed to match each student’s style and featured their finest works.

A display near the gym entrance recognized retiring Richfield Elementary art teacher Nicole Shamblin, who has worked in the district for 23 years. She established a formal art gallery in the school hallway, created a “work of the week” display in the cafeteria and each year included artwork from every Richfield Elementary student in the art show.

Several of this year’s artists in the show earned Scholastic Art Awards and Ohio PTA Reflections Program awards. Students Hannah Kim and Ruby Aldrich will have their art displayed at the Rhodes State Office Tower as part of the Ohio Governor’s Youth Art Exhibition.
