To celebrate its 25th anniversary, Hudson Community Foundation let the community decide what local nonprofits would benefit from $25,000 in special anniversary grants.
The foundation announced last month that Hudson Community First – a nonprofit focused on youth – was the top vote getter, earning it a $7,000 grant. Others in the top five include: Hudson Community Chorus, $6,000; Hudson Middle School Science Olympiad, $4,000; Hudson Bandstand, $4,000; and Hudson Job Search, $4,000.
HCF also said it approved an additional $5,000 to benefit five more nonprofits who received the next highest in votes received. Each of these nonprofits will receive $1,000: Hudson Speech & Debate, Hudson Drama Club, Hudson Players, State of Mind – Hudson and Hudson Farmers Market. The 25th anniversary grants are in addition to HCF’s regular grantmaking, which occurs twice a year and supports nonprofits in and around Hudson.
